"I Can’t Sleep Nights"

At night I turn out the light when I try and go to sleep
Circumstance beyond my control uncertain my advance

Anxiety, questions left unresolved
Knocked from my feet, I’ve tried counting sheep

   I can’t sleep nights thinking about it
   It dominates my mind
   I can't think straight I toss and I turn
   You know life can be so unkind
  
Close my eyes and then visualize the answers in my dreams
Alarmed by solutions I try a daydream so it seems

Insomnia lie awake I weigh the odds
Uneasy choice as I stare at the clock

   I can’t sleep nights thinking about it
   It dominates my mind
   I can’t think straight I pace back and fourth
   A struggle to unwind

I pass out on this bed of nails my problems undefined
Sometimes what’s known in the heart is difficult to find

All mixed up, right or wrong the choice remains
Sleepless nights and I’m tired of counting sheep
